MV Fan Car Park System
Normal implementation
of MV Fan system is time consuming and expensive because, each and
every of the field signals are hard-wired back to the Status Indicating
Panel for remote monitoring and control. As illustration, typical
condominium with 26 MV Fans would have 208 I/O signals. (Average of 8
I/O signals per MV Fan, such as High Run/ Low Run/ Stop/ Trip/ CO2/
High Start/ Low Start/ Stop/ Fire Alarm).

The IP2 approach is to digitized the controls of the MV Fan using an
embedded PLC. There are many ways to automate the starter of MV Fan
system using a PLC, below is an illustration of a method using IP2 PLC
Remote I/O.

With I/O signals digitized using PLC, the MV Fan starter panel can
communicate with Master Panel remotely using 2-wire fieldbus network.
Thus, eliminating the need of hard-wiring. Overall cost savings is
terms of time saved and materials, estimated to be 30%.

Building Automation System
Major component cost
in implementing a Building Automation System, lies with investments in
ACMV starter
panels and DDC controllers for digital controls of the ACMV equipment
such as Chillers, Pumps, Air Handling Units, Fan Coil Units and MV
Fans. This is partly due to market-specialization, with the panel maker
fabricating the starter panels and DDC specialist doing the system
integration. For years, this has been the way Building Automation
System was marketed.
IPanel's approach to
Building Automation System is different. We sought to Automate the ACMV
equipment as source using embedded PLC controllers (IP3C Panel
Controller). Pioneering the concept of IP3C Digital Starter Panel with
All-In-One (AIO) approach of Starter Panel, Energy Metering and PLC
Remote I/O. This approach eliminates the need for expensive DDC
controllers as illustrated.

Such an integrated and intelligent approach of system integration
reduces the cost of implementing Building Automation System by as much
as 30%.

Replacement System does not require any programming or PC setup.
